Director’s Statement

I didn’t want to make a tribute.
I wanted to tell the truth.

Some parts of Christy Dignam’s life were never allowed into the public story. Abuse. Addiction. Damage that didn’t fit a neat narrative. Leaving those parts out would have been another form of silence.

This film exists to put them back where they belong — without judgement, without apology, and without softening the edges. Christy’s life was not a clean arc or a redemption story. It was raw, complicated, and often painful. That reality shaped the man and the music.

This is not nostalgia.
It’s honesty.

This film tells the story as it was lived.
