Director’s Statement

I didn’t set out to make a tribute.
I set out to tell the truth.

There are parts of Christy Dignam’s life that have never been fully explored in the public story — his struggles with addiction, the impact of those years on his family, and the complexity of a life lived under constant pressure.

Ignoring those elements would have reduced his story to something incomplete.

This film presents a fuller, more honest portrait — one that acknowledges both the public figure and the private reality, and the tension between the two.

Developed with the full trust and support of Kathryn and Kiera Dignam, and Darren Moran, and with access to personal archives and firsthand accounts, Feel No Shame approaches this story with care, responsibility, and respect — not to sensationalise, but to understand.

Christy’s life was not defined by a single narrative. It was shaped by resilience, contradiction, and endurance.

This is not about myth.

It is about a man — and the life he lived.
